“The First Cenote Social Club in the World. A Sanctuary for the Senses.”
Vesica Tulum isn’t just another cenote—it’s an experience. While it might sound like an over-hyped, wellness-influencer hotspot at first glance, it’s actually one of the most grounding and luxurious places I’ve been to in Tulum. After spending the day at this hidden jungle gem, I can confirm: the 4.9-star Google rating is 100% earned.

🌿 What Is Vesica Tulum?
Vesica Tulum is what I’d describe as a cenote day club meets wellness sanctuary. Unlike the high-energy beach clubs lining Tulum’s coast, Vesica offers a calm, curated vibe. Think chill afro house beats, sun-drenched daybeds, organic food, and ice baths and reiki on the side.
The vibe here is very much “dolce far niente”—the sweetness of doing nothing. Come here to swim, relax, eat, and reset your nervous system in the jungle. There’s yoga, wellness workshops, bodywork services, and of course, the beautiful cenote itself.

💸 How Much Does Vesica Tulum Cost?
- Entry Fee: 500 MXN (~$26 USD)
- Minimum Spend: 500–1000 MXN (~$26–$52 USD), depending on the daybed
The closer you are to the cenote, the higher the minimum spend. I chose one of the more affordable daybeds just a few steps back and actually preferred the added privacy. That said, I easily hit the minimum spend and could’ve gone for the premium beds with no issue.
💡 Pro Tip: Food and drinks here add up fast (and are worth every peso), so plan your spend accordingly. This is one place you don’t want to be stingy, because the food and the experience is well worth it!
⏰ When’s the Best Time to Visit Vesica Tulum?
Arrive early—especially during high season. You can easily make reservations online. However, I risked it and showed up without a reservation during the low season. Luckily, since I came in the morning at opening, I had my pick of the daybeds and the cenote almost all to myself.
By early afternoon, the vibe shifted from tranquil retreat to a lively—but still mellow—social club, as more guests arrived. Whether you’re a freediver, floater, or people-watcher, mornings are perfect for solo swimming, and afternoons bring in the buzz. By the time I left for the day at 2:30pm, all the daybeds were filled.
🕓 How Long Should You Stay?
Honestly? As long as you can.
I only had about 4 hours due to my jam-packed Tulum itinerary (I always overbook myself), but I could’ve stayed the whole day. This isn’t a “pop in for an hour” kind of cenote. It’s a full-day, full-vibe reset.
Expect to:
- Swim
- Lounge
- Eat and drink
- Explore wellness workshops
- Chat and shop with local vendors
- Sunbath
✨ Wellness Activities at Vesica Tulum
Beyond swimming and sipping, Vesica offers a full menu of holistic wellness treatments and workshops. Some of the offerings include:
- Massages (starting at 699 MXN / $38 USD)
- Yoga classes and sound healing
- Breathwork and reiki sessions
- Chinese cupping and ice baths
- Facials and holistic therapies
The area behind the cenote features a serene hammock zone and a shaded tent area where workshops are held throughout the day. Had I stayed longer, I would’ve gladly joined in.

🥗 What’s the Food Like at Vesica Tulum?
In a word: exceptional.
Vesica offers some of the best food I had in Tulum—fresh, upscale, nourishing, and plated like art. The menu features:
- Seasonal appetizers
- Salads, ceviches, and grilled mains
- Local and international flavors with a wellness twist

Don’t skip the Elote Dorado (the server’s recommendation and my new obsession) or the Tartar de Atún. I still dream about dining in my bikini at my daybed, post-cenote dip, with music playing and the sun overhead. Pure bliss.
Drinks include:
- Fresh agua frescas
- Craft cocktails and wine
- A solid selection of tequilas and beer
- Non-alcoholic wellness drinks and smoothies
Come hungry—you’ll want to try everything.
🧘♀️ What’s the Experience Like at Vesica Tulum?
Here’s what your day might look like:
- Arrival & Check-In
You’ll park in the gravel lot, check in at the front, and walk through the jungle pathway to the cenote where you are greeted by an employee and get to choose your daybed. - Swim & Relax
The cenote is small but crystal clear, with little fish swimming around. There’s a rope you can chill on mid-water and a shaded DJ/yoga platform above. - Explore Wellness Areas
Behind the main area, you’ll find the workshop zone, hammocks, and an outdoor lounge area for treatments or events. - Lunch & Lounging
Everything is ordered from and brought directly to your daybed. Since I arrived at opening while they were still serving breakfast, I decided to wait for the lunch menu which has the better menu options, in my opinion. - Vendors & Jungle Strolls
Check out the local vendors selling tinctures, handmade jewelry, teas, and more. A nice touch that adds to the boho jungle vibe. - Jungle-Chic Restrooms
Even the bathroom is beautiful—open-air, with a pebble-filled sink and herbal soap, plus a full-length mirror for your jungle selfies. - Easy Departure
When you’re ready to go, just wave down your server and pay directly from your daybed—credit cards accepted.

- Solo travelers needing a day of stillness and healing
- Groups of friends looking for a peaceful alternative to the beach clubs
- Wellness enthusiasts who love sound baths and plant-based plates
Less ideal for:
- Families with young kids (they may get bored). That being said, there were several families with small children there.

The crowd ranges from stylish locals to tourists in their 20s to 50s. Everyone’s here to chill, connect, and breathe.
🌟 Final Verdict: Is Vesica Tulum Worth It?
Absolutely. Vesica is a perfect escape from the chaos of Tulum’s party scene. Whether you’ve had a wild night out or just want a serene day surrounded by nature, this is the kind of place that reminds you how good life can feel when you just… slow down.
It’s not just a cenote. It’s a day-long sensory reset in the middle of the jungle—with music, movement, food, and soul-soothing vibes.
