About

Hi, I’m Katherine!

I travel and I know things. It’s what I do.

Jokes and Game of Thrones references aside, traveling has been my favorite “hobby” for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was addicted to the travel channel and worshipped the likes of Anthony Bourdain, Samantha Brown, and Andrew Zimmern.

Born and raised in scorching hot Arizona, I now call California home. I came here not only to escape the heat, but for my job as an actor when I’m not traveling. The common theme with my passion and my career, is that life is too short to live just one life, so why not live them all? I love walking a mile in someone else’s shoes.

Since I’ve chosen a beautiful life of instability as a starving artist, so to speak, I have mastered the art of stretching a dollar like no other. For over a decade, my credit card churning, frequent flyer program hacks, and deal hunting has allowed me to travel frequently and affordably, and sometimes even luxuriously. I’m excited to share all my crazy, wonderful travel stories, guides, and money saving tips with you!

“If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move.”

– Anthony Bourdain

Where I’ve Been

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a full-time content creator?

Hopefully soon, but not yet! I work in the entertainment industry as an actor, stand-in, and background artist when not traveling. It’s how I have such a flexible schedule that allows me to travel so often and for so long.

How do you afford to travel so much?

I practice credit card churning, among other travel hacks, to constantly earn a steady stream of credit card points and miles that allow me to book the majority of my flights for free and even cover some hotel stays. It’s the main reason I started this blog—to teach others how to use credit card points most effectively and budget for affordable travel.

I also tend to travel to destinations in their low season for better deals all around (and less crowds) so my dollar stretches even further.

Who do you travel with?

Depending on the destination, I either go with friends, family, or join a tour. I have nothing, but respect for those who always travel solo, but I myself get very lonely after a few days.

What is your travel style?

I am a do-it all traveler, so you’ll never find me at an all-inclusive resort by the pool all day doing nothing. I’m big on adventure, the outdoors, museums, nightlife, and the food scene. Jam-pack itineraries to get the most out of a destination is how I roll.
