Hi! I'm

Katherine

I travel and I know things. It's what I do.

Jokes and Game of Thrones References aside, traveling has been my favorite "hobby" for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was addicted to the travel channel and worshipped the likes of Anthony Bourdain, Samantha Brown, and Andrew Zimmern.
Now you probably didn't stubble upon my About Me by accident, so let me tell you my entire life history, or at least the highlights. Born and raised in burning hot Arizona, I now call California home. I came here not only to escape the heat, but for my job as a union background actor when I'm not traveling. The common theme with my passion and my career, is that life is too short to live just one life, so why not live them all? I love walking a mile in someone else's shoes.
You'd be surprised to find out that I was originally on the track for a life in corporate America since I got my undergrad degree in International Business Management and a minor in French Studies. I decided after graduating that there is so much more I want to do that just doesn't fit into a 9-5 lifestyle, though I am grateful for that experience just like everything in life (and there could be worse things than studying abroad in Italy for the summer, right?).
Since I've chosen a beautiful life of instability, as a starving artist, so to speak, I have mastered the art of stretching a dollar like no other. For over a decade, my credit card churning, frequent flyer program hacks, and deal hunting has allowed me to travel frequently and affordably, and sometimes even luxuriously. I'm excited to share all my crazy, wonderful travel stories, guides, and money saving tips with you!

"If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food, it's a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move." - Anthony Bourdain
